Description:
A favorite of hummingbirds and butterflies.  Shade-loving perennial that can flourish under leafy trees, neighboring homes, or in other less sunny locations.
It is part of the tropical Logania family and prefers relatively warm, humid climates. It is primarily suited for USDA Hardiness Zone 6-9

Care:
It grows in part sun to full shade and requires good drainage. Blooms in Late May through June.  They may re-bloom is cut back after the June flowering. 
 
Propagation:
The seeds are grouped into small balls of 4 - 7 seeds and separate readily.  Within one to two days the seed will explode.  They can be divided in the spring or before the fall equinox to allow time for root development. 
Diseases:
It's environmental and pest tolerances and longevity in the landscape indicate that is is a good plant to utilize.
